Welcome back to Dartmouth in the county of Devon and the start of a ‘Voyage of Discovery ‘ on the new yacht Liquid Asset – Beneteau Oceanis 46.1

First things first and a tour of the vessel that would be home for the next fortnight. On deck the surfaces are flat and clear of lines (ropes), down below is a modern fitted galley (kitchen), heads (toilet) and sleeping quarters. And the latest technologies include navigation consoles, radio transmitter and sound system. This is only the beginning and many more hidden gems to discover…
“So where will you sail ?” is the first question asked in any conversation and the reply always “depends on the winds at the time!” Passage planning is quite tricky and plan A becomes plan B C D & E. Then when the finest details are considered we have a departure time, a destination and an arrival time.

The planning Room this year was at Kendricks and we sat in the window seat to discuss all things sailing and the type of living on board for the next two weeks. Cooking was next on the list and our food compass was agreed – watch this space…
Editor note – just a reminder that the blog is prepared whilst out a sea and WiFi reception can be a challenge. Fortunately new technologies have made blogging easier so hopefully it all works. A new section for the Young ‘uns will be trialed and comments welcome
So let the voyage begin, until tomorrow “good night” zzzzz
