The downpour was relentless, the wind driving the rain directly into our faces. The marina was a desolate, mist-shrouded expanse as we trudged towards our yacht. A far cry from the balmy summer evening we’d envisioned. Mother Nature was certainly asserting herself today.
Undeterred, we turned our attention to charting our course. The weather forecast indicated southwest winds transitioning to northerlies by Monday night. Given a sailing yacht’s limitations against the wind, our options are clear: head south to Guernsey or west to Cornwall. The decision is set. Let the adventure begin.
A ‘warm’ welcome to everyone. This blog takes us on a journey and lets us share our experience of sailing. We rely on a mobile phone, and the internet which isn’t guaranteed a connection when sailing beyond the horizon.
A new page format and a separate site for our younger followers. Enjoy
