It is Sunday and you may have noticed that we have stopped sailing. We are having to wait for a good wind direction to cross the Channel. Not today nor tomorrow, perhaps Tuesday. Stuck in the Channel Islands.

Visiting La Seigneurie Gardens was always on the agenda and so the long slow march up the cliff path began. The dinghy was safely tied to a ring at the top of the beach because the spring tides lift the seas higher now.

We couldn’t pass up a visit to The Mermaid Tavern. Past visits have always been challenging either with the publican or engaging with the ‘interesting’ locals. Fortunately today all exchanges passed by in a normal fashion. And we enjoyed a small refreshment in the sunshine.

Lighthouses have a phase characteristic and these are shown on navigational charts.
The pattern of changes occurs within one complete cycle - one period. Generally, the more light shining or faster the changes, the more danger that is covered by the light.
Our lighthouse on the hillside flashes white light once every 15 seconds - fl 15s

Having climbed 300′, we decided to visit Creux harbour and see for ourselves the incredible building skills used to make the quays with huge granite blocks. First built in 1588 and extended in 1866. Creux Harbour
And so we began the long climb up the 300′ path (again) and strolled along the leafy lanes towards La Seigneurie.

It wasn’t long before we reached our destination and ate lunch outside at the café . And then into the main attraction through the gated entrance. New developments included the Stumpery and the Grass Walk. And of course the Walled Garden was stunning as ever.

The tide had risen to the top of the beach and the task of launching the dinghy was very easy now. Soon after we were back on board Liquid Asset and settled down whilst sailing yachts were arriving from all parts of Europe.
