Y23:D8 Fermain Bay

Fermain Bay anchorage

11:00 We dropped the line off the mooring buoy and motored round the top of Sark and across the Big Russel with its following tide. The strong wind blew over the surface and created choppy seas. Then we arrived at Fermain Bay sheltered by high sided pine clad slopes. A peaceful hour to relax and to wonder at the beauty of this natural bay.

14:30 Caught the north flowing tide into Havelet Bay. Local sailors use the nickname ‘ Heave-a-lot Bay’. And today it lived up to this name as the tide runs northward and waves bounce off the harbour wall.

Outdoor swimming pool

Outdoor swimming pools along the shoreline are busy with keen swimmers. Not for the faint hearted!
