Chart Datum is the plane to which all tidal heights are referred. Tides are affected by the cycle of the moon. Today’s ‘strawberry’ full moon gives very shallow low water (1.31m) and very deep high water (5.2m) levels.
We wandered across Bryher aiming to visit all the attractions that were on offer. Within an hour we had finished the list and refreshed ourselves at Olivia’s Kitchen for the last time. We chatted for a while. A family of sparrows were being taught to take crumbs off the table, starting from when the cake arrived! “Get off it’s mine”.
Then off along narrow tracks to visit the Fraggle Rock Bar for a bowl of chowder. Photos on the wall suggest a younger Gary Lineker had been a customer.
And for the last time on the island, we returned to Liquid Asset before the rain came.
